Ezer Kenegdo

In the beginning,

When God so brilliantly created the universe, He wove into creation whispers of His love.  With each creation He affirmed it to be good, but even after the creation of man He knew His masterpiece was not yet complete. With intricate significance, God created the final detail and crown of creation, woman....who He called Ezer Kenegdo, which means "life saver" or "helper that is compliment to."  Every other area in the Hebrew Bible where the term "ezer" is mentioned, it refers to attributes of God as savior, helper, and rescuer. (According to early scripture research conducted by Ransomed Heart Ministries and Robert Alter)

You see, man and woman both equally bear the image of God himself, but different aspects of His image are seen in man and others in woman.  Women are not an afterthought to God.  Kings and queens do not place their crown on last because they almost forgot to wear it, but because it is the final piece that completes the embodiment of their status as royalty.

From the beginning of time, God has established and reiterated your value, which if you have forgotten is utterly PRICELESS...

"You did not choose me, but I chose you..." John 15:16

What We Do…

We have personally walked this difficult road.

Our Mission

To speak truth from the Word of God into the lives of women particularly concerning the matters of their identity and worth; thereby, revealing and countering false perceptions and untruths projected by self or others.

Our homes should be a place of rest, renewal, and a safe place to voice and express our innermost thoughts and emotions.  Unfortunately, for many women who have experienced domestic violence, their homes are ground zero for their deepest emotional devastation.  Many find themselves in a constant state of fight or flight mode, which is a protective body mechanism that was never intended to be sustained for long periods of time; these women become locked into this stressful state for weeks, months, and even years.  Not only are there psychological ramifications such as panic attacks, depression, and anxiety, but the body also begins to develop physical symptoms such as gastrointestinal disorders, weight gain or loss, increase risk of illness due to impaired immunity, and many others.  Being in a constant state of bracing for the next anger outburst, devaluing word, or public humiliation is absolutely exhausting both physically and mentally.  Understand that these effects permeate every single moment of every day....

What happened is not always going to be the headline of your life. This is not how your story ends! With God, there is HOPE. With God, there is no exclusion clause!

Our Goal

Our vision is to facilitate healing and infuse hope by providing a safe, home-like setting in which women can be free to speak about their experiences, build confidence, build support systems, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.  We provide a place of REST and RETREAT from the stressors and demands of life.  The Ezer Kenegdo Haven hosts weekend retreats (2 night stay) that include biblical studies conducted by women who have had extensive personal experiences in the area of relationship abuse.  Not only do we minister to the spirit of each woman, but to each as the true treasure she is.  There will be times of pampering, meals will be provided, and of course a good night's sleep in our bed and breakfast ambience!  This calm and inviting atmosphere will be a place of HEALING; a safe place for women to let down the walls of hurt, and begin to learn who Christ is, and who HE says they are!  Because when we discover our TRUE identity in Christ, EVERYTHING begins to change and TRUE HEALING can begin

And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst.
